Places I've WORKED
Visa Europe
Head of UX, Design & Research
August 2013 – June 2014
UX Design Lead / Manager
October 2011 – July 2013
London
Recruited to lead some of the design work, I ended up running the 15 strong design team with an annual operating budget of £5million, across all of Visa’s digital initiatives.
I had the privilege of representing an exceptionally talented team of UX designers, UI designers, prototypers and researchers. We were instrumental in helping to establish the value of product design within Visa and change perceptions the organisation had previously held.
I was personally responsible for bringing design research and prototyping functions in-house to build continuous design delivery capability. The core project was to deliver Visa an online payment solution (V.me) and by utilizing their brand cachet, build a rival to PayPal. It was a pan-European project, with many of the major banks involved as co-brands. This version was short lived due to Visa Europe’s reincorporation into Visa Inc. but V.me lived on in a different incarnation called Visa Checkout.
